Changes

Where to start?

Today was my last day of school. I've officially finished all the classwork requirements, and now have the task of the paper. Le sigh, as BOBI says. This finalization of a chapter in my life is bittersweet. I'm relieved that this task is nearing completion, but sad because I'll miss my friends. Well, life is full of changes.

The 2nd change is with my job. As of Feb. 1st, I'll be working for a different agency. Again, bittersweet. I'm glad to be changing, but will, again, miss my friends. I've put in 8 years with this agency, and kinda hate to leave. However, on the plus side, I'm back in the county where I started, so I'll be able to see all of my old friends on a more regular basis. And I'm excited about what I'll be doing. It's still law enforcement, but more hands on. And the agency has a good reputation. I spoke with a friend from the old office today and told him that I was leaving. He congratulated me, and then said "I wish I knew what could be done about employee retention. All the best people leave here to work for your new agency." A nice compliment, I thought. He also made the point that if my department had paid for school for me, I would still be working there. True enough. I'm grateful they allowed me to go, though, so I'm not complaining.

The picture here has nothing to do with changing jobs or finishing school. It's just a nice picture either my daughter or I took while in Savannah a few weeks ago.

Please, someone with disposable income. Give me a school grant so I can go to law school!
